A VERY PERPLEXING YEAR
The first year of High School is terrifying,
Being able to conform is the key.
The lives of Freshmen are comparable,
To confused children in an bizarre place.
A gloomy morning mist hangs in the air,
And the blinded children struggle through it.
Each encounters unique difficulties,
But each of their problems are soon solved.
In the floating murk, a child's toe is stubbed,
Like the first failed test of a Freshman's year.
Despite these problems there lies adventure,
Because the first year is one of the best.
Through the thick cloud, a songbird's tune is heard,
Like a Freshman's first touchdown or dance.
And as the first year flies by so quickly,
The haze of confusion slowly dissolves.
The sweltering sun rises high above,
And the children can run and play freely.
The Freshmen can see clearer now as well,
And they look to the oncoming future.
Soon comes Summer, and the Freshmen are out,
Given time to reflect on their first year.
When the sun rises on the next school year,
The confusing fog won't be there to daze.
