Web Page Goals

I'm attempting to accomplish a handful of things by constructing a web page, the first of which is to simply teach myself to actually MAKE a web page. Secondly, of course, I'm giving the world a tiny window into what is my life. Finally, I'm making myself accessible to anyone who wishes to contact me for whatever reason.

Career Goals

"Always in motion is the future," says Yoda, the Jedi Master from the Star Wars trilogy. This statement holds true for our lives, for our future always changes from our decisions. As C.F. Kettering said, "We should all be concerned about the future because we will have to spend the rest of our lives there." Due to my indecision regarding my future occupation, my specific career goals are limited to graduating from the Colorado School of Mines with honors, and be commisioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Air Force (I firmly believe that all citizens should strive to serve their country to the highest capacity possible). Afterwards, I plan to further my education and enter into a more specific field. As of now, my broad interests have left countless doors open to me including business, law, journalism, and art.

Life Goals

While formulating life goals, I prefer to look on my future and imagine how I'll be remembered. "The luxury of doing good surpasses every other personal enjoyment," said John Gay, an English playwright. Along the same lines, my ultimate goal in life is to spread God's Word. The Bible reads, "Go forth and make disciples of every nation," and that is what I shall strive to do. What better gift to give than that of eternal life? Basically, when I'm dead and gone, I want to be remembered as a good, honest, godly man who dedicated his life to Christ and to the benefit of humanity. Both my career and life goals are formed and remain somewhat firm as my future sways continually. Fortunately, I receive some comfort from a quote of Tennessee Williams: "The future is called 'perhaps,' which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the important thing is not to allow that to scare you."
